GLENN: All right. Let me quickly go back to Van Jones and tell you why this bothered you at Fort Hood, while you were watching the President, I know everybody has already talked about this, but I’ve been gone and I haven’t heard anybody really spell out why this bothered you. When he talked for two minutes — play the audio, please, of Van Jones, when he talked for two minutes prior to saying, Hey, by the way, huge tragedy at Fort Hood today, he was talking about Indians and this is the first audio piece that went off in my mind. I knew I had heard the word — these kinds of words somewhere before that the President was now saying and it was spilling out into my living room. I’m hearing not the President. I’m hearing this.

MR. JONES: No more broken treaties, no more broken treaties. Give them the wealth. Give them the wealth. Give them the dignity. Give them the respect.

GLENN: Okay. So, I started thinking about Van Jones. Now, this is in the three minutes before the President even starts to address Fort Hood. And I start thinking about Van Jones and then I remembered that I wanted to talk to you about something that we had missed and I think everybody had missed in New York in the 23rd — while everybody was talking about the New York 23rd, they didn’t notice that there was — in the law in New York and it went — really, nobody even talked about it. Do you want prisoners to be able to go work for community organizations? Sure. That sounds like a good idea. Uh-huh. So, now prisoners can leave the walls and they can work for community organizations, just pulling a couple of ideas out, Americorp, maybe, something like that. And it made me think that we got off Van Jones too early because we were working on a story about Van Jones speaking in San Quinton last March, where he told a group of inmates from the San Quinton Times, quoting, We need genius. We need entrepreneurial brilliance, people who will reimagine possibilities. We need you. The whole point of that speech was to give jobs to people in prison, to let them work, something that has just passed in New York and nobody paid attention. Naturally, I think we all agree that this is — it’s only an extremist that think that we shouldn’t be looking for tomorrow’s entrepreneurs in prisons, not colleges or tech schools. No, no. Prisons. That’s where the, quote, genius and entrepreneurial brilliance will from. Guess who else focused directly on prison inmates for their recruiting efforts. Let me ask the question again. Van Jones looking for new recruits, entrepreneurial brilliance. New York now voting to say, yes, if you’re a prisoner, you can go to work for a community organization. Hum. Sounds awfully familiar. Sounds like the Van Jones plan. So, we know Van Jones and the extreme left wants to recruit in prisons, but who else wants to recruit in prisons? Who looks at not just the entrepreneurial brilliance in prison but who looks to prisons as their No. 1 spot to recruit, No. 1? Al Qaeda. The No. 1 place for Islamic radicalization in America is our prison system, which brings me full circle back to the speech where Barack Obama meandered around before addressing the Islamic terrorist slaughter of our men and women in uniform, on a military base right here at home, in Texas, and then he told us not to jump to my conclusions. Fortunately, President Obama has never jumped to my conclusions before.

OBAMA: I don’t know all the facts, but that — the Cambridge police acted stupidly.

GLENN: Hum. So, now you can draw your own conclusions from all of this, but my point is something wasn’t right, something isn’t right. When we can trace policy back to a radical revolutionary communist self-titled communist Van Jones and make the connections directly back to Barack Obama’s agenda, maybe it was divine providence that this happened on the same day, so we could actually see the connections, mistake make these connections during a speech following, call it what you want to call it, a terrorist massacre. There’s ample reason to be concerned. Trust your gut. Look. A lot of people will talk about may have been American rights. It’s important. Treaties were broken, but in the grand scheme of things and priorities, the day of a national tragedy, yeah, I don’t think I as the President would be doing that on that day, but you stay awake. You stay involved in the process. You are needed. You are not a sunshine patriot. If you just love the flag, well, just old glory, you’re not going to be of any help. Your country needs you now more than ever before. You feel it like I do. This is not who we are, this is not the America our grandparents gave us. Check the records. You won’t find a single shout out in any address on a tragedy from any American President in history. You won’t find any Presidents advocating reparations for special interest groups, making the case for redistribution of wealth or making political promises to people before he even gets around the mentioning the death of 13 Americans who volunteered to serve not Americorp, not ACORN, but the ideas and the ideals of the founders of the United States of America.

Rasmussen reports 46% of Americans approve of President Obama’s performance as of Wed Poll. This is lowest support level for this President.

Sixty percent (60%) say that the Fort Hood shootings should be investigated by the military as a terrorist act. Just 27% prefer civilian authorities investigate.

The text of Mr. Dobbs’ announcement about leaving CNN:

This will be my last broadcast here on CNN, where I’ve worked for most of the past 30 years, and where I have many friends and colleagues whom I admire deeply and respect greatly.

I’m the last of the original anchors here on CNN and I’m proud to have had the privilege to helping to build the world’s first news network.

I’m grateful for the many opportunities that CNN has given me over these many years. I’ve tried to reciprocate with a full measure of my ability and my energy.

Over the past six months it’s become increasingly clear that strong winds of change have begun buffeting this country and affecting all of us, and some leaders in media, politics and business have been urging me to go beyond the role here at CNN and to engage in constructive problem solving as well as to contribute positively to the great understanding of the issues of our day. And to continue to do so in the most honest and direct language possible.

I’ve talked extensively with Jonathan Klein — Jon’s the president of CNN — and as a result of those talks, Jon and i have agreed to a release from my contract that will enable me to pursue new opportunities.

At this point, I’m considering a number of options and directions, and I assure you, I will let you know when I set my course. I truly believe that the major issues of our time include the growth of our middle class, the creation of more jobs, health care, immigration policy, the environment, climate change, and our military involvement, of course, in Afghanistan and Iraq.

But each of those issues is, in my opinion, informed by our capacity to demonstrate strong resilience of our now weakened capitalist economy and demonstrate the political will to overcome the lack of true representation in Washington, D.C.

I believe these to be profoundly, critically important issues, and I will continue to strive to deal honestly and straightforwardly with those issues in the future.

Unfortunately, these issues are now defined in the public arena by partisanship and ideology rather than by rigorous, empirical thought and forthright analysis and discussion. I’ll be working diligently to change that as best i can. And as for the important work of restoring inspiration to our great free society and our market economy, I will strive as well to be a leader in that national conversation.

It’s been my great honor to work with each and every person at this wonderful network. I will be eternally grateful to CNN, to Ted Turner, and to all of my colleagues and friends, and of course to you at home. I thank you, and may God bless you.

A Patriotic Resistance, Here
I have noted that many elected officials, both Democrats and Republicans, called upon America to unite behind Obama.

Well, I want to make it clear to all who will listen that I “AM NOT” uniting behind Obama. However, I promise to give our country the devoted loyalty of a patriot.

I will respect the Office which he holds, and I will acknowledge his abilities as an orator and wordsmith and pray for him, BUT that is it.

I have begun today to see what I can do to make sure He is a one-term President!

Why am I doing this? It is because I do not share Obama’s vision or value system for America;

I do not share his Abortion beliefs;

I do not share his radical Marxist’s concept of re-distributing wealth;

I do not share his stated views on raising taxes on those who make $150,000+ (the ceiling has been changed three times since August);

I do not share his view that America is arrogrant;

I do not share his view that America is not a Christian Nation;

I do not share his view that the military should be reduced by 25%;

I do not share his view of amnesty and giving more to illegals than American Citizens who need help;

I do not share his views on homosexuality and his definition of marriage;

I do not share his views that Radical Islam is our friend and Israel is our enemy who should give up any land;

I do not share his spiritual beliefs (at least the ones he has made public);

I do not share his beliefs on how to re-work the healthcare system in America;

I do not share his Strategic views of the Middle East, and certainly do not share his plan to sit down with terrorist regimes such as Iran.

Bottom line, my America is vastly different from Obama’s, and I have a higher obligation to my Country and my God to do what is right!

For eight (8) years, the Liberals in our Society, led by numerous entertainers who would have no platform and no real credibility, but for their celebrity status, have attacked President Bush, his family, and his spiritual beliefs!

They have not moved toward the center in their beliefs and their philosophies, and they never came together nor compromised their personal beliefs for the betterment of our Country! They have portrayed my America as a land where everything is tolerated except being intolerant!

They have been a vocal and irreverent minority for years;

They have mocked and attacked the very core values so important to the founding and growth of our Country;

They have made every effort to remove the name of God or Jesus Christ from our Society;

They have challenged capital punishment, the right to bear firearms, and the most basic principles of our criminal code;

They have attacked one of the most fundamental of all Freedoms, the right of free speech!

Unite behind Obama? Never!

I am sure many of you who read this think that I am going overboard, but I refuse to retreat one more inch in favor of those whom I believe are the embodiment of Evil!

PRESIDENT BUSH made many mistakes during his Presidency, and I am not sure how history will judge him. However, I believe he weighed his decisions in light of the long established Judeo-Christian principles of our Founding Fathers!!!

Majority rules in America, and I will honor the concept; however, I will fight with all of my power to be a voice in opposition to Obama and “his goals for America.”

I am going to be a thorn in the side of those who, if left unchecked, will destroy our country!! Any more compromise is more defeat!

I pray that the results of this election will wake up many who have sat on the sidelines and allowed the Socialist-Marxist anti-God crowd to slowly change so much of what has been good in America!

From the Taiwan Legislature to the Washington Post there is a lack of manners and emotional controls at work, Does this equate to poor upbringing at home or a couch potato mentality?

Washington Post executive editor Marcus Brauchli found himself in the middle of an altercation Friday evening between Style reporter Manuel Roig-Franzia and editor Henry Allen, but will not say whether the two have been reprimanded by the paper.

 “We take this incident seriously and will address it appropriately,” Brauchli told POLITICO, declining to comment further.

 Reports that Allen punched Roig-Franzia surfaced Monday morning on FishbowlDC, Washingtonian and City Paper (which reported Brauchli was traveling).

 Multiple Post sources independently confirmed to POLITICO that Roig-Franzia got hit while defending colleague Monica Hesse from harsh criticism leveled by her editor, Allen. 

Allen, according to the Washingtonian, had told Hesse that a piece she had written was “the second worst story I have seen in Style in 43 years.”

 Roig-Franzia, also working a story with Hesse that ran Saturday, told Allen not to be such a “c—sucker.”

 Allen swung twice, with one punch hitting Roig-Franzi, according to sources. Next, staffers on the 4th floor —including Brauchli, whose office is temporarily across from the Style section — jumped in to break up the altercation.

 Allen, a Pulitzer Prize-winning editor who already took a buyout, has just three weeks left on his contract, and was not in the office Monday. Roig-Franzia is in the office.

 A Post spokesperson declined to discuss “private personnel matters.”

UPDATE: Allen, following news reports that he punched Roiz-Franzia on Friday night, told POLITICO that he was surprised by the huge reaction in the media world. 

In the old days, said the 68-year-old, Pulitzer Prize-winning editor, the press wouldn’t have been so shocked by an expletive-filled, newsroom scuffle.

In D.C., reporters and bloggers from Washingtonian, Washington City Paper and FishbowlDC swarmed around the story, while top aggregators like Drudge Report, Huffington Post called attention to the news.

(HuffPo went with a bloodied Brad Pitt pic from Fight Club splashed across the media page, with the headline: “Brawl at the Washington Post”).

 ”Back when I got into journalism, the idea that a fistfight in a newsroom would turn into a news story was unthinkable,” Allen said when reached Monday evening. “The guys in the sports department at the New York Daily News, they had so many, you wouldn’t even look up.”

 But Post staffers definitely looked up, and several people in the newsroom — including Brauchli — helped break things up after Allen threw a punch. (Allen’s first thrown, he said, since 1963.)

 Following early reports, City Paper’s Eric Wemple has more details, including some back-and-forth between Roiz-Franzia and Allen that took place before Friday. While there was chatter in the Post newsroom that Roiz-Franzia had been defending a colleague, the two apparently had issues days before that led up to the altercation.

Allen isn’t expected to work out of the newsroom for the remainder of his time at the Post.

Online Video for business – Is it all hype?
What I’ve found is this; viewing habits for online videos are the same across the board. It doesn’t matter if you’re Netflix running video ads on Yahoo’s homepage or a one-person business in Alaska; people all watch…and react to…videos in the same way.
I also uncovered some surprising facts about web video in the process. Facts that can give small business owners a decided advantage over their competition.
Approximately 50% of people who watch a “quality” video will take whatever action that video asks them to do. It could be filing out a form, clicking on a link or simply reading the text below the video. For those of us with text-only web sites, we know that getting 50% of visitors to do anything…well, it’s nearly impossible.
It gets even better though.
But wait…aren’t the majority of people watching videos online just teenagers trying to avoid homework? Nope. Actually, 65% of the people viewing videos online are between the ages of 35 and 64. And 67% of those earn a middle to high income. How many of those people are in your market?
